mSports – Visualization, monitoring and analysis of sport events

msportsmSports is a young team of founders. Its main focus is on the development and distribution of racing-tracking systems as well as the multi-media presentation of the accompanying sports events for viewers and media.

Sports events taking place on large-scale areas, such as rallies, sailing or mountain biking, are very challenging, not only for athletes, but also for organisers. Normally, spectators can only see the ongoing race directly and live in a very small part of the track. mSports Race allows viewers to see the complete race with appealing 2D images, which are prepared with multi-media tools. Interested viewers can follow a race either on their mobile phones, on large projection walls at the event location or over the web browsers, and to recall additional interesting data. Moreover, monitoring software allows spotting possible accidents along the racing track, enabling the organisers of the race to start rescuing measures immediately.

mSports has already been successfully used during the 2006 World Sailing Games at Lake Neusiedl, as well as during the 2008 Drift Challenge at Perg. Another main focus is the field of training support in team sports. mSports Team is a GPS-based system allowing monitoring training units or games of e.g. a soccer team on the basis of physiological and tactical parameters. Positions and physical data of players can be identified in real time and made available to the trainer for analysis and monitoring in a user-friendly format.
